Season 35. Completed.

Wow. Time sure flies when you're fragging out. Season 35 has come to its conclusion and now it's time to congratulate all our winners and runner-ups. However, with Season 35 behind us, this does open the door for our next season... the one that comes after Season 35. But before that, we have some off-season action lined up for late January so make sure you keep your ears to the ground so you don't miss out.

Congratulations Premier winners Witness Gaming!

The Premier Grand Final match between Witness Gaming and Sesame Street materialized on the 12th of December. This early Smissmas present was predicted by spectators and players to be a one-sided brawl in heavy favour of Witness Gaming. To everyone's surprise (and to Witness AU's chagrin), Sesame Street provided a strong showing and put the fellas on Witness through their paces, eventually taking the 3rd map of the series off them. However, even though they were able to take a map and even look to win Reckoner, Witness Gaming picked up their socks and closed out the map and series - claiming their second consecutive Premier championship.

Congratulations Intermediate winners altombo's kittens!

The day after the Premier Grand Finals, the Intermediate Grand Final took place between altombo's kittens and fever kids. After narrowly winning Upper Page Playoffs against fever kids, altombo's kittens weren't messing around on the first map Snakewater. While fever kids tried to take back the momentum on Product, trading rounds back and fourth, it wasn't quite enough and the kittens clawed out the win and took home the first place badge.

Congratulations Main winners RTBA!

On the same night as the Intermediate Grand Final, the Main Grand Final transpired and was a nail-biter of an event. As the scores below suggest the match couldn't have been any closer. The first two maps went down to the wire with Bagel and Process taking 27 and 30 minutes respectively. But ultimately, RTBA finished the long-fought battle on Gullywash winning the series 2 - 1 making them the Main division champions.

Congratulations Open winners take me to snurch!

Thursday the 15th is when the last match of the season took place, with take me to snurch (the favourites) up against PINKY BRAINDERS. With PINKY BRAINDERS winning their Upper Page Playoff and regular season match against take me to snurch, they were the favourites going into the Grand Final. But despite this, take me to snurch came into the match on fire, finishing map one in just over 12 minutes. While PINKY BRAINDERS put up a stronger fight on Sunshine, take me to snurch's aggression was too great, thus finishing the season on top.

Congratulations to Phices on winning the OZF 32 Main Grand Final against gone fishing (mate).

Going into the Main Grand Finals, in spite of a dominant regular seasons performance from Phices, neither team was favoured. When the two teams faced off in Round #1, Phices had come out on top, however, the Upper Page Playoffs match went the way of gone fishing (mate). Grand Finals this season, was truly up in the air.

After a grueling first map, gone fishing (mate) walked away with a 2-0 win on Reckoner, hoping to continue the momentum into their opponent's map pick, Metalworks. Unfortunately for them, the coordinated aggression from Phices proved too powerful, their ability to take advantage of small openings ultimately won them the second map in a close 2-1.

After the first two maps both were close, tensions were high going into the tie breaker. It was Clearcut, the choice of gone fishing (mate), that would decide the Main division champions. In spite of a simply nail-biting first and third round, Phices won Clearcut in a clean 3-0 sweep, crowning them your Season 32 Main Division champions!

Despite being on the second-place team, the most valuable player of this match was Akim. Sporting impressive logs and constant pressure, Akim put out almost 400 damage per minute on both Reckoner and Clearcut. His ability to create advantages and impact through his mechanics and aggression was felt throughout the game. Akim really stepped up to perform in this match and proved himself as a demo who is capable of taking healing and turning it into damage.

Thank you to all the players, support staff and patrons that helped make this season possible. We'll see you all again soon!
